After serving four years in the United States Army (with 1st SFG Airborne), LeShaun returned to Knoxville, Tennessee to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, and also to follow a life-long dream of becoming a World Champion boxer. | |
For the first 2 1/2 years of his career,
LeShaun trained
under the expertise of former NABF Champion, Bernard "BT
Express" Taylor. Under Bernard's watchful eye, LeShaun learned the
skills to become both a boxer and a puncher.
After retiring in the second round of his first fight, LeShaun and Bernard hit the gym with an unrelenting dedication, which eventually led LeShaun to the National Golden Gloves Tournament in Reno, Nevada. Under trainer Steve Whitt, LeShaun won a tough first-round bout against Terry Gladden of Cincinnati, Ohio, which controversially was overturned. |
LeShaun spent the following year training and preparing for his professional debut. That debut came on March 17, 2002 in Crossville, Tennessee, where he won a four- round majority decision over Luis Perez of Mexico. | ![]() |
As a professional boxer, LeShaun intends to fight in the Jr.

until he achieves his dream of being a World Champion.
